I'm not much for the mumbo-jumbo meditation, zen, get-in-touch-with-your-aura type of schtuff...
But I do appreciate that specific sounds and tones affect your brain and health the same way food and exercise do. Here's a snippet from Wikipedia:
I use a "nature sounds" app at night. A lot of the sounds drive me nuts, but there's a very specific configuration that I just *love* and I always know when I'm having trouble sleeping, it will help me out.
Delta waves are my happy place. :)
I'm highly interested in those Gamma waves!
Below I've added in my playlists I set up on Spotify-> AWAKE and REST.
The "awake" playlist I've been trying out while I work...lots of focus, concentration, problem-solving, and learning tracks.
The "rest" playlist is self-explanatory. There are also some very interesting lucid dreaming tracks that would be pretty cool if they work. I don't like the hypnotic suggestion tracks or the guided meditations. Freaks me out. :)
I played around with several free apps on my phone and finally settled on this one. It has 30 different settings and was only $1.99. I haven't had it long, but I'm enjoying it so far.
Well, that's today's rambling.
Try out some brain waves this weekend and see if you notice any difference.
