The hubs and I just finished watching the first season of Longmire on Netflix.
Don't get me wrong, there were still plenty of conversations and scenes I wouldn't want to watch with my 8-year-old daughter, but for the most part, Longmire was refreshingly clean.
There are some "cuss words" thrown in here and there, but I was particularly surprised at the lack of gore when they are investigating dead bodies. Unlike most crime shows where they seem to thrive on how much blood and disgustingness they can come up with, you don't see much of that at all.
Which, to me, is awesome, because even though I love the storyline of The Walking Dead, I watch 85% of it with my hands over my eyes.
Additionally, although Longmire is nowhere near a G-rated show, one scene where they were investigating in a strip club, there was very little skin showing--and I really appreciated that. Very refreshing. The few "love" scenes shown were hardly blushable.
I really enjoy a decent show where they can focus on the story and not over-sexualize every relationship. I hope it stays that way!
Longmire definitely gets lots of thumbs-up. Can't wait till they put season 2 on Netflix. (Cuz once again, great show, but not purchase-worthy.)
