I was looking forward to this movie. I imagined there might be some giant sharks to add to the sparkle of an epic Biblical narrative of Noah. I was *really* looking forward to exploding water scenes and the hollywood-esque ocean waves and seeing how they fit all the amazing animals in the giant ship.
Now I can't go see it, because giant rock angel monsters? I can't even. And that's just part of the list of reasons I've read so far. Leaving God out of a movie about Noah? *sigh*
I'm not saying I'm holier than thou, and that I won't spend $1.25 at the Redbox to see it when it comes out on DVD--just to see what the nonsense is all about--but I'm definitely not going to fork out the money to see it in the theater as I originally had hoped (because sharks!).
This was a good article about it... sigh again, people, sigh.
It *is* pretty awesome to see a movie ad recommending that people download The Bible App and read the real story for themselves. Although I'm not theologically-minded enough to comment on how the dynamics of all that works! :)
