Have you ever noticed how in disaster movies, it's always the guy who's prepared that the movie is about? Funny how that works out. OH NO, IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD, I HAVE NO FOOD OR GUNS. Yeah, I wouldn't want to watch a movie about that guy, either. So the hubby and I have a thing for disaster movies, and the more post-apocalyptic the better. ![]() Most recently, we watched the new version of Red Dawn. (If you haven't seen the old one, I highly recommend it. I mean, seriously, Patrick Swayze. What are you waiting for?) Aside from the fact that Thor is in the new version, and that's good enough reason to watch right there, it's also a pretty good movie ... and fairly realistic for a what-if story. Thankfully, good ol' dad was smart and his boys knew how to take care of themselves, and were able to help their friends as well. Maybe not the most realistic of movies when you think about the state of physical inactivity in this country (I digress), but I imagine if my town were being overrun by a foreign military intent on conquering us, we'd figure out how to fight back too. (I HOPE.) And for all the pacifists taken hostage and living in the prison camps, good luck with that--I hope that works out for you. Oops. Sorry. Tangent. :) Here's the trailer:
So the hubby came across this "Prepper Movies" list, and I thought I'd make my own.
So, in no particular order, here's a short list of some of my favorites and some of my not-so-favorites as well:
