So it goes like this...
I really wanted to write a great review about the newest Star Trek movie, but I ain't got nuthin'.
We saw it back on Memorial Day. It was not the best experience.
Mr. Else (see photo below), talked me into shelling out the cash to see it in 3D, even though I hate 3D and previously had two horrible experiences trying to see 3D movies.
You see, I wear glasses, and try as they might, those ridiculously huge 3D glasses they give you to wear do NOT fit over your own prescription glasses and will drive someone super sensitive like me TO THE BRINK OF INSANITY every time they touch your nose. Which is ALL THE TIME.
SO... I ordered some "IMAX-only" 3D clip-on glasses from my beloved Amazon. They were perfect! Except for the part where when we got to the movie, and it started, and I was all excited, the "IMAX-only" clip-on 3D glasses didn't work AT ALL, and I ended up spending the entire movie trying to hold the giant 3D glasses off of my nose in the right position, or just watch without them, or try and be a rational person and wear them. Nothing doing.
So, in conclusion, I am pretty sure it was a good movie...and the bits I was able to see in 3D looked really cool (except for when they blurred out the person in the foreground to make the other person look 3D--which is really quite stupid. WHY!?).
Anyhoo, I'm anxious to rent it when it comes out on Amazon Instant so I can actually enjoy the story.
Stupid 3D jerks.
But alas, here's Travis's review for your review-reading pleasure:
PS --said glasses were returned immediately upon our return home!
