***No spoilers, just tunes!***
When I finally saw the playlist for The Walking Dead soundtrack, I was so disappointed. Bear McCreary's beautiful score is nowhere to be seen! UGH!
After reading a lot of reviews from people (like me) who didn't want to buy this music, I decided to go ahead and listen via Spotify to check it out for myself.
Even though I still want to hear Mr. McCreary's amazing score, the soundtrack has a very TWD feel to it--and surprise, surprise, it even makes me want to re-watch (again) so I can listen for more of these songs.
I remember while watching many episodes actually pondering why the song was chosen to go along with a particular scene instead of something more formulaic--the music of TWD is not obvious, and that makes it unique. A lot of the music makes me uncomfortable--which, I think, is one of the great things about TWD. It really keeps you on edge. When you want to try really hard to feel one way about a character or an event taking place, the music takes you where they (the evil, evil writers) want you to go instead (especially when you don't want to go there!).
Definitely worth a listen.
