In chapel this week we sang "Come Like the Dawn," and I jotted down a few notes in my phone to ponder later...
Spirit of God come like the dawn
Open the heavens on us
We want to know You
Whether the morning sky was the point of this song or not, it really struck me on a personal level. Since we've moved we've been blessed with the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets imaginable. I already loved the country, but physically moving out of the city and living daily in such lovely wide open spaces increased my love for this gorgeous planet God created and how beautiful each and every day is.
Whether a beautiful sunrise or sunset or a thunderstorm... Even the barren winter trees were just gorgeous to keep me from snapping picture after picture (can I get an AMEN for digital photography and no film costs!?).
We moved in at the end of winter and woke early to bright stars in the sky and drove home to beautiful sunsets. Now that spring is here we get to enjoy our evenings outside with the beautiful sky just pouring down amazing colors over us.
Pardon my astonishment...but just wow. :)
I'm so thankful for my God and His beautiful creation... and my camera and pixels and blog posts and sharing my joy with you all.
So here are a few (ha...) of my recent gifts...
It was hard to just choose a few, so I made them smaller. Click on each to enlarge. :)
Psalm 19, A David Psalm
God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.
Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening.
Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.
God makes a huge dome for the sun—a superdome!
The morning sun’s a new husband leaping from his honeymoon bed,
The daybreaking sun an athlete, racing to the tape.
That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies from sunrise to sunset,
Melting ice, scorching deserts, warming hearts to faith.
The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together.
The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road.
The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy.
The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes.
God’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee.
The decisions of God are accurate down to the nth degree.
God’s Word is better than a diamond, better than a diamond set between emeralds.
You’ll like it better than strawberries in spring, better than red, ripe strawberries.
There’s more: God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure.
Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool?
Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh! Keep me from stupid sins,
from thinking I can take over your work; Then I can start this day sun-washed,
scrubbed clean of the grime of sin. These are the words in my mouth;
these are what I chew on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar,
O God, my Altar-Rock, God, Priest-of-My-Altar.

Hi, I'm Kristi! Christ follower. Farmer's wife. Mom. Gardener. Artist.
I love to create surface design patterns and mandalas (and, and and...). You can find my work at the links below. We live on a little 20 acre farm in the middle of nowhere, and that's what I mostly like to blog about. Home, gardening, Jesus, cats. All my favorite things.

This is one of my most very popular designs. I love seeing my fabric on children's clothing and accessories. <3
