I could surely go on and on with this one... I'm still letting "it all" sink in that we finally, really, really moved to the country. We found "our" home and it's perfect. We found "our" land and it's gorgeous. Every time I turn around I find another reason to love our little castle. God surely loves us through all these gifts...the big ones and the tiny ones no one but I would ever even notice. Every morning and every evening I get to enjoy the gorgeous countryside. The beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the clouds in their grand and infinite arrangements. Brilliant stars peaking out of the ridiculously dark night sky out in the middle of nowhere. The amazing brightness of a full moon! The blessing of a husband to take care of me and drive me to and fro. The silly giggles of a 10 year old watching a movie in the backseat, and the sighs of an old dog bundled up beside her. A 15 year old car that should be long dead yet is still carting us about the countryside. A brilliant husband who takes good care of it! An old stereo that grumbles and mumbles but still works enough to let us hear a good sermon on our way to and fro. And free podcasts to fill up our precious time together. Yes, I can easily say I feel the love of God in a hundred different ways just in our daily commute. Mostly what God does is love me. Watch what God does, and then you do it,
like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that. Ephesians 5:1-2, MSG |
