Something you may have noticed... life is non-stop. Praise God for His direction...I don't know how many times I've prayed just over my homemaking, God show me what to do next! How I wish I'd prayed that more often in my life. and pray I remember to pray for it more. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 2 Peter 1:3, ESV. This verse is so MEATY. As Paul Tripp explains, if we are in Christ, we have EVERYTHING we need. Not just for eternity, but for NOW. For today. For whatever is going on in my life this very moment. Through Christ I have the strength, the ability, the tenacity. Even when I feel like I have nothing (and I don't have a thing, it's all Christ!), I have everything. I have changed my prayers from begging and pleading to thanking God for already giving me what I need... "Please show me how to use what you've given me in the best way possible." All this to say..today I am immensely grateful for EVERYTHING God has given us for life and godliness...how to LIVE. And what living we have these days! So many plans, and projects, and joys, and frustrations. Life on planet earthy is tight and stretchy, and there is so much groaning and growing to do inside the confines of our human skin. Thank God for His marvelous grace and provision! ![]() Romans 8:22-28 MSG All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy. Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. On to my #1000gifts for today... Today I am thankful for pets...companionship...joy...love. We had to send our sweet Lily on home to doggy heaven (still conflicted on the theology of that one!). She was a tenacious sweetheart, and we miss her dearly, but it was time for her to depart the planet. <3 We got our precious Fury just a little before Lilly was gone. She in no way replaces her, but she sure does keep us busy! I'm super thankful for chickens and eggs! We got 11 new chickens last week! Ten hens and a rooster. Celia named our rooster Zane, which has turned out very fitting, because he is quite the ladies' man. (And kind of a jerk who wakes up at 4:30 a.m.!) This is our well house...I decided at random that I'd let Celia paint on it...and then when she had a sleepover last week it turned into our guest book. I love it! The kids slept in a tent inside the garden ... you know, cuz chicken wire keeps bears out. ;) I am thankful for Celia and friends and childhood and paint and having fun! I am thankful for every project and sunset and minute spent at the castle. And for cranes, and hawks, and eagles flying overhead. |
