September is upon us! I have a fantastical idea that as summer fades I'll find more time to blog. Less gardening and mowing of the castle grounds means more time to rest, right? Improbable, I'm sure. Firewood, winter prep, finally organizing the rec room (?!?!)... It will be fun to see what fall and winter bring to the castle. Those calendars are never quite empty, life is very full from morning till night. #somuchlifeinthere Current life includes... I'm really not fond of that rooster. He stalks me every time I'm out in the yard now, and I really don't want to hit him, though I'll keep carrying a big stick! More cucumbers! Green tomatoes going into the freezer and herbs to dry and preserve. Fire pit! I'm anticipating much hot dog roasting and fireside adventures. I'm looking forward to much of the insect population going into hibernation. Good riddance! Hopefully some treks down to the forest soon. Our sunflowers are almost done for the season. Jon already has many of them hanging up in the shed to dry. The amaranth is still gorgeous but will probably need to be processed soon as well (before all those pesky seeds fall to the ground!). Life is good. :) |
