This is the easiest thing on the planet.
Whoever talked us into buying tube after tube after tube of fluoride + aspartame + who-knows-what-else-laden toothpaste was a genius. But seriously, we don't need it! Homemade toothpaste is so cheap and so easy to make, and did I mention so much cheaper? And not full of chemicals. AND SO MUCH CHEAPER. This is certainly one of the cheaper things you can do to make your bathroom counter more natural.
I used the recipe I found HERE, and Celia and I decided we don't like the salt. ICK. So we don't add that anymore. The recipe says to just dip your toothbrush in the mix, but with 3 people using it, that's pretty gross to me, so I broke off a plastic spoon and I keep that in the container (which is just an old Truvia container--perfect!). I just give it a little stir each time and drip some on my toothbrush. I think it might take 3 seconds longer than using a tube.
Try it! And enjoy keeping those extra pennies in your pocket each time you need to make a new batch!
