This past weekend I had a chance to play with my sewing machine!
>insert cheers here!<
I had purchased some of my own Starry Night police box fabric with high hopes to make matching skirts for me and the kiddo.
I wanted a comfy, stretchy skirt, so with bated breath, I ordered the design on Organic Cotton Knit. When it arrived (less than a week later!) I was very, very pleased and super impressed with my fabric choice. I usually order Kona Cotton or Linen Cotton Canvas (my favorite), but this knit turned out perfect--the colors are bright but not overdone (and not washed out like I had feared).
So I dug into my stash and found a super fun pink & white striped knit to coordinate with my fabric. Well, no, I'm sure it doesn't coordinate at all, but it makes me happy, so that's what's important, right?? :)
Sadly, this is *not* a how-to project. My sewing methods can be somewhat skeptical, but needless to say, skirts are pretty easy. You can find a million ideas on the google.
So just to make sure and show off properly, I snapped a few shots as I went along. :)
It only took me about an hour to put my skirt together, so I was even more pleased to have time to work on the kiddo's as well. I had plenty of fabric, so I used an old pair of shorts (cut off the bottom and just kept the waist) and made a super quick and easy skirt for the kiddo.
I love adding mismatched and leftover bits of ribbon and lace. :)
Honestly, there are photos of me prancing around in my skirt as well, but those will stay on the camera for eternity. Nobody needs to see that. :)
Hope you're inspired to make something too!
